Support Our Work

Help make accessible financial support possible.

Individual contributions, business sponsorships, and in-kind support help us expand subsidized financial services, practical education, and community outreach.

Two Ways to Support

Choose the path that fits

Individual & Community Contributions

You can support our work with a one-time or recurring financial contribution, or by offering in-kind goods or services. We are not a registered charity, so we cannot issue an official charitable donation receipt, and a personal contribution is not eligible for a charitable tax credit or deduction, but it is genuinely appreciated and helps sustain and expand our services, programs, accessibility measures, and community outreach.

Business Sponsorships

Businesses can support a specific program, service, campaign, or area of community work through a documented sponsorship arrangement. In return, Sonas Rath Collective may provide agreed recognition or promotional benefits, such as placement in selected newsletters, brochures, program materials, social media campaigns, website content, workshops, or webinars. Available benefits depend on the sponsorship package, campaign schedule, and written agreement. Sonas Rath Collective does not guarantee how a sponsor may claim or report the payment.

Questions

Contributions & Sponsorship FAQ

Is Sonas Rath Collective a registered charity?

No. Sonas Rath Collective is a Canadian not-for-profit organization, but it is not a registered charity or other qualified donee with the CRA.

Will I receive an official charitable donation receipt?

No. Because we are not a registered charity, we cannot issue an official charitable donation receipt for a contribution.

Can I claim a personal contribution on my tax return?

No. A personal financial or in-kind contribution is not eligible for a charitable tax credit or deduction.

What is the difference between a contribution and a business sponsorship?

A contribution is voluntary financial or in-kind support provided without an agreed promotional exchange. A business sponsorship is a documented arrangement in which Sonas Rath Collective provides defined recognition or promotional benefits in return for the sponsor's payment. Because the arrangement includes defined promotional benefits, it may be treated differently from a voluntary contribution. The business is responsible for determining the appropriate accounting and tax treatment with its own accountant or tax advisor.

What promotional benefits may be available to sponsors?

Depending on the sponsorship package and what is currently available, this can include recognition in selected newsletters, brochures, program materials, social media campaigns, website content, workshops, or webinars. Specific placements are agreed in writing and subject to availability, content suitability, and brand-alignment review.

Does Sonas Rath Collective guarantee that a sponsorship payment is tax-deductible?

No. A business business should confirm the appropriate treatment with its own accountant or tax advisor. However Sonas Rath Collective will make necessary adjustments to a sponsorship agreement as needed to assist the business owner in being able to use it as a deduction when appropriate.

How are sponsorship arrangements documented?

Through a written sponsorship agreement or accepted package describing the promotional benefits provided, the sponsorship period, and payment terms.

Can a business support the work without receiving public recognition?

Yes. A business can provide a voluntary contribution with no promotional benefit. In that case, we would not describe it as a sponsorship, since no promotional exchange is involved, and Sonas Rath Collective cannot advise on the tax treatment of that payment.

Can I contribute goods, services, or professional expertise?

Yes. Contact us to discuss in-kind support and how it can help our work. Where applicable, these contributions may be able to qualify as payments for sponsorship - A business business should confirm the appropriate treatment with its own accountant or tax advisor.

How will my contribution or sponsorship be used?

Support helps fund subsidized bookkeeping, financial literacy programs, neurodivergent-friendly resources, rural outreach, crisis prevention support, and accessible delivery — see "What your support makes possible" above.

This is general information, not tax or legal advice. Please confirm how it applies to your specific situation with your own accountant or tax advisor.
